Wear Something Worth SharingTM

Who will create the content that we consume tomorrow? The apps, the websites, photography, music, messages, videos, branding, ads- What will be the framework and intentions for these creatives? How will the leaders in businesses and nonprofits use this information? Will these creatives be fueled with purpose, hope & compassion?

According to today’s statics- No. There is a huge void to be filled between the talent consumption of tech scenes and the distant church walls. A void for those creatives who want to bring flourishing to their communities rooted in the Gospel.

Broekn™ is a platform for equipping tomorrow's faith-fueled entrepreneurs. We are an effective place for faith-applied work resources, funding & design collaboration. We believe in the biblical principles that call us to share both our faith (Rom 1:12) and profits (1 John 3:17). We fund our collaborative mission through our merchandise profit share, subscriptions and donations. Our service mark “Wear something worth sharing” expresses the idea that life is too short to buy into empty merchandise. Instead, buy into products that fund challenging missions, encourage our faith and provide a place of opportunity for faith driven creatives. Our eyes are fixed on the future; extending our platform to include course work, materials and scholarships that equip future entrepreneurs. Join us as we navigate this Broekn mission.

Statement of Faith

Our beliefs that drive our decisions

We don’t need another place of condemnation. We already get enough of that from our media, churches, workplaces, friends and families. If you read your Bible you will see that it is full of writers who have done and said some bad things. We aim to display a variety of well articulated materials that might include a message from someone who has some stains in the past. Guess what, we all do- So please don’t write us off because you don’t exactly agree with 100% of everything we represent.

We believe in trying to find balance in most things- except for Jesus. Finding ourselves as sinners and friends of sinners. But we're not merely dust in the breeze. Christians can be known for being some of the most judgmental people in the world. We need to work on that. So we aim to be more accepting and inclusive of people who don’t exactly look and act like us, while not forgetting who is leading who. It won’t always mean acceptance, but it will always mean broekn.

We are here to supplement your local church body. We believe you should be plugged into a local church community. At the same time we know (from personal experience) that there are many church communities that are not focused on the Gospel or wanting to take the time to navigate the hard questions. We don't necessarily want to blame them for that, but we do plan to navigate "real-life" issues. During that process, we want to be a safe place to have the conversation and support those taking action that align to our mission. Easier said than done.

If you really read your Bible, you'll see a constant theme circling around greed, murder, deceit, anger, government issues, sexuality, poverty, and anarchy- from many shady and horrible people. BUT GOD- steps in and uses this to bring glory to his name. However, in so much (particularly) western church cultures we try to water down and gentrify our messaging. Painting a picture that ignores these vibrant colors because they don't fit into our current vision. The long term effect of this effort can create a foreign body of emotions and objections for the rest of us who have daily struggles. The Bible, Jesus and the Gospel is down right offensive to so many worldly views and teachings- yet God is Love! How can this be?

It's a daily challenge and opportunity for us to boldly engage in. We want to model that in our mission and take an honest approach to removing the candy coating from our work.

Does work really have to be just a 9-5 grind? What if we could create, engage and encourage new business principles and career opportunities? We aim to take a creative stance to the typical ways that we have been taught to make a living or run a business. As we develop merchandise, content and connections, we want to create opportunity and education for others that are interested in thinking outside the box. Our long term plans include developing course work and scholarship programs.

The Bible was full of relationships that didn't really make sense to society. We believe this is a glimpse of what heaven will look like. So we aim to adopt those relationships rather than a typical uniform church hour amongst people who mostly look and believe the exact same as you. We believe this will open arms to collaborate with a diverse group of people sharing top skills in their industry while having a passion to help others.

We acknowledge that God works in mysterious ways and not everything is meant to make perfect sense to us. His thoughts are higher than ours. Dinosaurs, global warming, millions of years, big bang, aliens... Whatever the debate, what would WE be if everything made perfect sense to us? While it's so easy to wrestle in arguments about all these controversial topics, we hold on to the definitive truths given to us as outlined in our Core Scripture below:

1 Corinthians 8:6 | 2 Corinthians 13:14 | Matthew 28:19 | Mark 12:29 | John 1:14 (The Trinity)
John 20:31 | John 10:30 (Jesus is who he says he is)
Isaiah 55:8-9 | Philippians 4:7 (His thoughts higher than ours)
Ephesians 2:8-9 | 1 John 5:4 (Saved by Grace through Faith)
